My name is Bart Powers and I was born in
1959 in Chicago, IL.
A self educated artist I Have been drawing since age the age of 8. I began
doing my own concepts and selling them since 1979. In the beginning of my
career in the early 80’s, I began doing work for Punk Rock bands where my
abstract style evolved. This style can be seen in all of my paintings and
illustrations to date. By the middle 80’s he included my love for Vintage
Automobiles in my paintings and illustrations incorporating the gritty
urban industrial I grew up with as a boy. After years of sending and
submitting work I was accepted in 1992 by the Ann Nathan Gallery in
Chicago where my work is currently sold and exhibited. My work has
appeared in the Chicago Tribune, as well as having had articles in Raw
Vision Magazine. I have pieces of art that were accepted as part of the
permanent collection of the Art Brut Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. My
work has also been shown in Paris at the Hall St. Pierre for one year, and has
sold yearly in New York at the Pucks Center as well as around the world.
